The Girls’ Hostel of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, came alive with youthful energy and vibrant colours as it hosted the much-awaited Fresher’s Party 2025 to welcome the new batch of resident students. The event was held on October 11, 2025, at the hostel premises and was graced by the esteemed Principal, Dr. Suman Chopra, as the Chief Guest.

Jalandhar, October 15, 2025: The Girls’ Hostel of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, came alive with youthful energy and vibrant colours as it hosted the much-awaited Fresher’s Party 2025 to welcome the new batch of resident students. The event was held on October 11, 2025, at the hostel premises and was graced by the esteemed Principal, Dr. Suman Chopra, as the Chief Guest.
The evening began with a traditional welcome ceremony, where Dr. Amanpreet Kaur Sandhu, Hostel In-Charge, and Ms. Kanta Nagpal, Hostel Warden, presented a bouquet to the Principal, extending warm greetings and respect.
In her address, Dr. Suman Chopra welcomed the newcomers and encouraged them to embrace hostel life as a period of learning, growth, and lifelong friendship.
The celebration featured a vibrant line-up of cultural performances, including Kashmiri, Dogri, Haryanvi, Classical, and Punjabi Bhangra dances, beautifully representing India’s cultural diversity — a value the institution proudly upholds.
The highlight of the evening was the modelling competition, where new students showcased their confidence and style on the ramp. After several exciting rounds judged by Prof. Kajal Sharma and Prof. Arshiya Sharma from the Department of Pharmacy, the winners were announced:
•    Miss Fresher: Samiti (BA LLB – 1st Sem)
•    Miss Radiant: Komal (BSc RIT – 1st Sem)
•    Miss Ravishing: Harpreet (BPT – 1st Year)
The winners were felicitated with sashes and crowns amid loud cheers and applause from fellow residents.
The programme was skillfully anchored by Ashima Sharma (BPT – 4th Year) and Amisha (BA LLB – 5th Sem), who kept the audience engaged throughout.
The event concluded with a lively DJ night and refreshments, leaving students with cherished memories and excitement for the journey ahead. The celebration truly marked the beginning of a joyful and enriching hostel life for the new residents.
