Lyallpur Khalsa College cadet Sunanda Sabharwal felicitated for participating in Army Day Parade
Dr. Rashpal Singh, Principal of Lyallpur Khalsa College, expressed immense pride and happiness over the remarkable achievement of NCC Cadet Sunanda Sabharwal, who had the honour of participating in the Army Day Parade held at Jaipur. After her successful return from the prestigious camp, Cadet Sunanda Sabharwal was warmly welcomed by the Principal in his office.
Jalandhar, January 19, 2026: Dr. Rashpal Singh, Principal of Lyallpur Khalsa College, expressed immense pride and happiness over the remarkable achievement of NCC Cadet Sunanda Sabharwal, who had the honour of participating in the Army Day Parade held at Jaipur. After her successful return from the prestigious camp, Cadet Sunanda Sabharwal was warmly welcomed by the Principal in his office.
On this occasion, Dr. Rashpal Singh felicitated her with a memento in recognition of her dedication, discipline, and exemplary performance, which brought laurels to the college. Dr. Karanbir Singh, NCC In-charge, was also present during the felicitation ceremony and appreciated the cadet for her hard work and commitment.
While congratulating Cadet Sunanda, the Principal remarked that participation in the Army Day Parade is a matter of great honour, as cadets are selected after a rigorous process based on discipline, physical fitness, drill excellence, leadership qualities, and overall conduct. He added that such achievements inspire other students to join NCC and serve the nation with pride.
Narrating her experience, Sunanda said that participation in parade was an enriching experience. She met and interacted with Kargil hero Captain Yogendra Singh Yadav PVC and Operation Sindoor media co-incharge Colonel Sofia Qureshi. The Army Day Parade, celebrated annually on 15 January, commemorates the day in 1949 when General K. M. Cariappa took over as the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army. The parade showcases the professionalism, discipline, and valour of the Indian Army and serves as a tribute to the sacrifices made by soldiers in safeguarding the nation.
The Governing Council of Lyallpur Khalsa College also conveyed its pride and heartfelt congratulations to Cadet Sunanda Sabharwal, stating that her achievement has enhanced the prestige of the college and stands as a shining example of excellence and patriotism.
