Chandigarh, May 18, 2015: Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Hisar (LUVAS) will establish two regional centres at Uchani, Karnal and Mahendergarh in Haryana so as to provide specialized services to the sick and injured livestock in the State.
In Principle approval for these centres was given in the 11th meeting of the Board of Management of LUVAS which was held under the chairmanship of Haryana Chief Secretary Mr. D.S Dhesi here today.
It was disclosed in the meeting that these centres would provide facilities namely surgical, clinical gynaecological, diseases diagnosis and extension services. These centres would also provide animal breeding and management practices to facilitate enhancement of productivity of the livestock. This will also create self employment opportunities for rural people.
Management has also approved the budget estimate of Rupees 92.36 crore for the financial year 2015-16. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
