The District Planning Board Chairman and SAD leader Heera Singh Gabria, one of the organisers Ashok Makkar and others pay obseisance before the photograph of Pt. Shardha Ram Phillauri at Durga Mata Mandir, Ludhiana on Monday, on the occasion of celebrations of the birth anniversary of Pt. Phillauri.

Ludhiana, September 30, 2013: The Pandit Shardha Ram Phillauri Memorial Society on Monday celebrated birth anniversary of Pandit Shardha Ram Phillauri at Durga Mata Mandir.
Speakers said Pt Phillari had penned the famous aarti “Om Jai Jagdish”, adding Pt. Phillauri had also written a book titled `Sikh Raj Di Vithyai’. They said the literature penned by Pt. Phillauri reflected the Punjabi culture and language.
Speakers also recalled the literary works such as “Punjabi Baat Cheet” – a book written in Punjabi and Hindi novel “Bhagyawati” of Pt. Phillauri.
One of the organisers Ashok Makkar sought that the state government should declare a holiday on birth anniversary of Pt. Phillauri.
Among others, the function attended by District Planning Board Chairman and SAD leader Heera Singh Gabria.
