LPU Emerged as a Northern India Innovation Powerhouse at IIC Regional Meet at Chandigarh

Adding to its innovation momentum, LPU students won multiple top and podium positions across robotics and engineering competitions at IIT Patna–CELESTA

Jalandhar: Marking a commanding impression Lovely Professional University (LPU), earning multiple accolades at the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) Regional Meet, held in Chandigarh. The prestigious regional meet brought together over 800 delegates, including 100+ Innovation Ambassadors from 60+ universities and higher education institutions across the Northern Region, making it one of the most significant innovation centric academic congregations of the year. Amid this highly competitive and intellectually vibrant environment, LPU stood out for both the depth and diversity of its innovation outcomes.

Innovation took centre stage at the regional meet, with four expertly curated exhibition stalls housing 15 innovative projects that became a central hub for discussion. This compelling display earned LPU the “Best Exhibition Stall Award (Northern Region),” a tribute to the originality and rigour of its student led innovations. Further elevating its stature, faculty mentors Mr. Ruhul Amin Choudhury and Mr. Mandeep Singh were honoured with the Best Performing Innovation Ambassador Award for their exceptional role in cultivating an institutional culture of innovation. Adding to the accolades, LPU secured the 3rd Position in the highly competitive Poster Presentation Competition.

Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of LPU, emphasised that innovation today must go beyond ideation and institutional boundaries. Dr. Mittal emphasized on the importance of students actively engaging with competitive platforms, peer institutions, and diverse academic ecosystems to truly understand the evolving benchmarks of excellence. Dr. Mittal said that such exposure enables students to learn collaboratively, compete constructively, and continuously refine their ideas, an approach deeply embedded in LPU’s academic culture.

Extending its innovation excellence beyond the regional platform, LPU offered further evidence of its robust research and hands-on learning ecosystem through an exceptional student performance at IIT Patna–CELESTA. Students from the Department of Student Research & Project secured top honours across multiple competitive categories, including first positions in Trailblazer and Robo Soccer, along with podium finishes in Aerosprint, Death Race, and Aquarush. The achievement demonstrated LPU students’ capacity to translate research, robotics, and engineering concepts into high impact competitive outcomes.
