MDU clears 92 pending promotion cases of college teachers
Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) has cleared 92 long-pending promotion cases of teachers from government-aided affiliated colleges under the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS), following an initiative by Vice-Chancellor Prof Milap Poonia.
Rohtak, October 4, 2026: Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) has cleared 92 long-pending promotion cases of teachers from government-aided affiliated colleges under the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS), following an initiative by Vice-Chancellor Prof Milap Poonia.
Of the 92 teachers promoted, 14 have been placed at Academic Level-11, 39 at Level-12, 36 at Level-13A and three at Level-14. Some cases had been pending since 2021, while the three oldest Level-14 cases dated back to January 1, 2016.
The cases included two due in 2021, six in 2022, 17 in 2023, 18 in 2024, 40 in 2025 and six in 2026. The beneficiaries include assistant professors, associate professors, professors and librarians from colleges in Rohtak, Sonipat, Palwal, Jhajjar, Ballabhgarh, Bahadurgarh and Kalanaur.
The university conducted screening-cum-evaluation/selection committee meetings on June 25, July 16, September 25 and 26, and October 1. The cases were processed after scrutiny of records, evaluation and interviews as per the prescribed norms.
Dean CDC, Prof Rajesh Punia, played a key role in monitoring and following up the cases. He also coordinated with the colleges and the university’s College Branch for records, document verification and committee meetings.
The promoted teachers represent subjects including mathematics, English, chemistry, physics, commerce, economics, physical education, geography, Sanskrit, psychology, political science, history, Hindi, computer science, zoology, education and public administration.
The university said clearing the long-pending cases would enable eligible teachers to progress in their careers under the CAS and welcomed the cooperation of the Higher Education Department.
