Love For Mother Tongue Makes A Person Complete In Every Sense

Ludhiana, February 24, 2016: Young Writers’ Association (YWA) PAU Ludhiana celebrated International Mother Tongue Day on Wednesday at PAU’s Shaheed Bhagat Singh Auditorium, Student Home. Director Students’ Welfare, PAU, Dr (Mrs) Ravinder Kaur Dhaliwal, proceeded over the function. In this celebration, two competitions took place to mark the importance of Mother Tongue. One competition was ‘Slogan Writing’ and the other was ‘Blog Writing’. Topics given were for slogan writing was ‘Develop a theme for Kissan Mela’ and for Blog Writing, it was: ‘Role of mother tongue in holistic development’.
Speaking on the moment, Dr (Mrs) Devinder Kaur Kocher President, Young Writers’ Association, said, ‘’I feel overwhelmed to see such a huge response from the students as it was my first function as the president. Youth is filled with a vast amount of energy. We will try our best to channelize this energy in a positive direction. The prize distribution for this function will be during the annual function of the association. This is also the golden jubilee year of YWA.
On the occasion, Dr. Dhaliwal said, ‘’Students participation in the celebration of Mother Tongue day shows how much the students are interested to be connected with their cultural roots. Slogan and Blog Writing both have their own creativity and aura of imagination, this why we have chosen these on mother tongue day’s celebration.’’
Kritika Gupta, Students’ President YWA said, ‘’the love for Mother Tongue makes a person complete in every sense. The celebration was a complete success. Students showed great enthusiasm for the function. We got an excellent response from the students of all the colleges. There were a total of 21 entries came in the slogan writing while 26 entries in the blog writing.’’
Students of the association Ankita Batra, Navneet Kaur, Ravneet Kaur, Ruchika, Narjeet Singh, Ashwani Kumar, Ashish Padhay and Gurpal Singh were also present.
