Apeejay College of Fine Arts organised Calligraphy Competition

Jalandhar, February 1, 2016: The Department of English of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar successfully organised Calligraphy Competition to enhance the writing skills of its students.  In this competition, 80 students enthusiastically participated.
In this competitive era, writing skills have grabbed a prominent position to achieve heights in any field.  The students who showed excellence were awarded certain positions like Simran Kaur of B.Com. (Prof.) Sem. VI grabbed 1st position, Seerat Gulati of B.Com. (R) Semester II grabbed 2nd position, Navneet Kaur of B.Com. (R) Semester IV grabbed 3rd position whereas Soniajit Sokhal of BFA Semester VI and Arshia Kakkar of B.Sc. (Eco) Semester II shared the consolation prizes.
On this occasion, Dr. Sunit Kaur, Head Department of English shared her views that Calligraphy is an art of writing effectively and a lot of emphasis is given on beautiful hand writing nowadays.  She said Department has always ventured to hold such competitions and such activities are need of the hour to promote students' interest in English Language and Literature.
