Ludhiana: The left parties will strive to build strong broad alliance to oust RSS guided BJP government from center.
In a series of functions organized on the independence day, main function being at Isru, various leaders of the CPI and CPM said that since this government has come to power the economic hardships of people have increased because of high prices, job freeze and falling wages. None of the promises made by them in 2014 elections have been fulfilled. Neither there have been received 15 lakh rupees from foreign banks by the people of India nor there has been generation of 2 crore jobs per year. Instead the rate of unemployment has doubled in the last years. Rupee has fallen to lowest ever 70 rupees plus against the US dollar. Despite the fact that oil prices and fallen to 1/4th in the international market the petrol and diesel prices have gone sky high. Having failed on all fronts and fearing alienation from people they are out rightly splitting the society on communal and caste lines to garner votes. All constitutional bodies including judiciary are being undermined. It is condemnable that the prime minster did not utter a single word in his speech on 15th August on mob lynching or Muzzafurpur rapes. He and his misters are lying on Rafle deal. They are defending those involved in Vyapam scam in which nearly 60 persons including the whistle blowers have been killed. It is time they have to be thrown out, the leaders said. Prominent among those who addressed the public meeting at Isru include Comrades Bant Singh Brar, Dr Joginder Dayal, Raghunath Singh, Lehmber Singh Taggar, Gurnam Kanwar, Kartar Singh Bowani, Gulzar Singh Goria, D P Maur.
The CPI also organised public meetings and rallies and demonstrations at Chhoti Haibowal, Chand Colony and Salem Tabri. These were addressed by Comrades Dr Arun Mitra, Chamkaur Singh, Ramesh Rattan, M S Bhatia, Gurnam Sidhu, Randhir Singh Dhira, Avtar Chhibber etc.
