Lecture organized by DLIS, PU under ‘Alumni Connect’ Series

Chandigarh, February 2, 2024: The Department of Library and Information Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized a lecture on “Application of WI-FI in Libraries” under ‘Alumni Connect Series’. 

Dr. Shiv Kumar, Chairperson welcomed the invited resource person and pointed out that we have initiated this series to connect Alumni with students as well as the department. Chanchal Yadav, Research Scholar of the department anchored the event and introduced theme of the lecture. 

Dr. M.S. Pathania was the speaker of today’s talk and is an alumnus of the department. He is a Former University Librarian, Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Solan. He has served the academia for 48 years with rich experience in the profession. In the lecture, he mentioned the vast changes that librarianship has gone through in due course of time along with comparing its challenges and benefits. He described various initiative taken by him during his profession career overcoming the challenges. He also added the role of Infrastructure with an emphasis on Wi-Fi technology and its implementation in universities/institutions. Today’s lecture was attended by around 70 participants.
