KMV’s scholar shines at National Mathematics Conference in Arunachal Pradesh

Jalandhar, April 29, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) student Himani, M.Sc. Mathematics (Semester IV), represented her institution at the National Conference on Contemporary Trends in Mathematical Sciences (NCCTMS-2026). The prestigious conference was organised by the Department of Mathematics at Arunachal Pradesh University and brought together scholars and researchers from across India to discuss emerging developments in modern mathematics.
Himani presented her research paper titled “Compartmental Models in Epidemiology: A Comparative Study from SIR to Models with Delays,” which was developed as part of her M.Sc. research project. Her paper was selected for presentation after a rigorous review process. The study provides a detailed comparative analysis of disease transmission models, extending from the basic SIR (Susceptible-Infectious-Recovered) framework to advanced models incorporating time delays.
Significantly, Himani emerged as the only female student from Punjab to be selected for this esteemed national academic platform, reflecting both her individual excellence and the strong research culture at KMV. Her participation highlighted the growing contribution of young scholars in advanced mathematical research.
Director Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated Himani on this remarkable achievement and appreciated her dedication, perseverance, and academic commitment. She also praised the faculty of the PG Department of Mathematics for their continuous mentorship and for creating a research-oriented learning environment.
This achievement further strengthens KMV’s commitment to academic excellence and research-driven education, inspiring other students to pursue higher goals at national and international levels.
