Jalandhar, April 20, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) faculty member Dr. Gopi Sharma from the P.G. Department of Physics has been selected for the prestigious NEPHEWS TNA Programme, an international research initiative being conducted in Hungary. This achievement highlights the institution’s growing global recognition for academic excellence and strong research output. The programme offers an opportunity to collaborate with internationally renowned scientists and access advanced research infrastructure. Dr. Sharma has also been awarded 1150 Euro to support travel and accommodation.
Dr. Sharma’s research, titled “Investigating the Correlation Between THz Properties and Glass Structure Using Neutron Diffraction,” focuses on understanding the relationship between terahertz (THz) properties and the structural characteristics of glass materials. The study has significant potential in the fields of photonics, advanced materials, and communication technologies.
Director Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated Dr. Sharma, stating that this prestigious selection is a testament to her dedication and the high-quality research being conducted in the department. She added that the work is expected to contribute meaningfully to advancements in glass science and terahertz technology.
