KMV’s faculty member receives a Patent on Optimal Cloud Service Provider Selection from Government of India
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) faculty member Dr. Ravi Khurana, Associate Professor, PG Department of Computer Science & Applications, has been granted his sixth patent, marking another significant milestone in his intellectual property portfolio. The patent has been awarded by the Patent Office, Government of India for the invention titled “System and Method for Optimal Cloud Service Provider Selection.”
Jalandhar, April 26, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) faculty member Dr. Ravi Khurana, Associate Professor, PG Department of Computer Science & Applications, has been granted his sixth patent, marking another significant milestone in his intellectual property portfolio. The patent has been awarded by the Patent Office, Government of India for the invention titled “System and Method for Optimal Cloud Service Provider Selection.”
The innovation addresses the challenge of selecting suitable cloud service providers by enabling a systematic evaluation of cloud service options based on trustworthiness, reputation, reliability, performance, and security. The invention is highly relevant in today’s digital ecosystem, where institutions, industries, and governance systems increasingly rely on secure, dependable, and efficient cloud services.
With this latest achievement, Dr. Ravi Khurana’s intellectual property contributions now include two patents granted by the Government of India, an innovative patent in Australia, and registered design patents with the Intellectual Property Office, UK, as well as the Patent Office, Government of India.
Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi praised the achievement, stating that the patent reflects Dr. Khurana’s exceptional research acumen, innovative spirit, and dedication to academic excellence. She added that his contributions significantly enhance the institution’s academic reputation and inspire both students and faculty.
