Jalandhar, March 17, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) PG Department of Economics organized a 21-day internship for its M.Sc. students to provide practical exposure and bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world situations. The internship aimed to enhance students’ professional skills and prepare them for future academic and career pursuits.
The 21-day internship proved to be highly beneficial for the students as it played a crucial role in enriching their academic experience and shaping them into competent and confident individuals ready to meet future challenges. During the internship, students gained firsthand experience of the dairy industry's operations, including milk procurement, processing, quality control, packaging, and distribution.
The training also focused on key economic aspects, including cost analysis, pricing strategies, supply chain management, and the market structure of dairy products. Officials at the Verka Milk Plant guided students through various operational units and explained modern techniques for maintaining quality standards and efficiency.
Students were also introduced to cooperative models in the dairy sector and their role in rural development and employment generation in Punjab. Director Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that the internship provided a valuable platform for students to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
