KMVites acquainted about the various aspects of retail management during workshop cum educational visit
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) P.G. Department of Retail Management under the Centre of Excellence (CoE), Sector Skill Council, Government of India organized a workshop on “Effective Sales and Marketing Strategies for Start-ups” at Puma Retail Brand Store, Eastwood Village, Jalandhar.
Jalandhar, April 14, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) P.G. Department of Retail Management under the Centre of Excellence (CoE), Sector Skill Council, Government of India organized a workshop on “Effective Sales and Marketing Strategies for Start-ups” at Puma Retail Brand Store, Eastwood Village, Jalandhar.
The workshop was conducted for the students of M.Voc. and B.Voc. (Retail Management) along with Students of Certificate Course – Retail Sales Executive, Skill India with the objective of acquainting them with effective sales techniques and modern marketing strategies used in retail businesses.
The session was conducted by Nikhil Verma, Store Manager who served as the resource person for the workshop. He shared valuable insights on customer engagement, persuasive selling techniques, and the role of strategic marketing in building successful start-ups. He also emphasized the importance of understanding consumer behavior, product positioning, and branding in enhancing customer satisfaction and sales performance.
During the workshop, students observed the functioning of the Puma retail outlet and learned how visual merchandising, promotional displays, and store layout planning influence customer buying decisions. The interactive session enabled students to gain practical exposure to real-time retail operations and helped them understand the practical implementation of theoretical concepts related to sales management and marketing strategies.
Director Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated all the students, HoD of Retail Management, Dr. Rashmi Sharma, and Course Mentor Chetna Nayyar for successfully organizing the visit and guiding students toward building strong industry-oriented competencies.
