Jalandhar, October 17, 2025: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised Diwali Fiesta – An Exhibition-cum-Sale to celebrate the much-awaited festive season with great gaiety and enthusiasm.
The Chief Guests for the inaugural ceremony, Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal, and Neerja Chander Mohan, Member, KMV Managing Committee, were accorded floral felicitations by Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Principal, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya.
Prominent members of the KMV Managing Committee — Dr. Sushma Chawla (Vice President), Dr. Sushma Chopra (Secretary), Dr. S.P. Gupta, Dr. Kamal Gupta, Dr. Deepali Luthra, and Mrs. Anuradha Sondhi — also graced the occasion.
The event was jointly organised by the Post Graduate Department of Fashion Designing, Cosmetology Department, Fine Arts Department, Journalism and Mass Communication Department, Department of Retail Management, Department of Hospitality and Tourism, and the Department of Botany.
While appreciating the artistically displayed items prepared by the students, Chander Mohan lauded their creativity and enthusiasm. He remarked that education at KMV goes beyond theoretical knowledge to focus on skill development and self-reliance, and this event truly reflects that vision.
The college campus wore a vibrant and festive look as a variety of stalls offered handmade articles, fun games, a selfie station, DJ music, and much more, adding to the joyful ambience. City residents and students from various schools also visited the exhibition.
Among the major attractions of the Diwali Fiesta were “Innocreations”—a showcase by KMV’s budding entrepreneurs featuring a wide range of creative products such as healthy sweets, mouth-watering snacks, hand-crafted diyas, gel candles, home furnishings, jute bags, herbal soaps, and decorative wall paintings and photo frames. Stalls of traditional handicrafts and trinkets further added to the charm, letting visitors indulge in a delightful shopping experience.
The students also enthralled the audience with energetic dance performances to popular tunes, making the event even more lively and entertaining.
Congratulating the organising team comprising Dr. Madhumeet and Dr. Gurjot, Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi expressed that such festive celebrations not only rejuvenate students but also provide them a valuable platform to showcase their creative and entrepreneurial skills, thereby empowering them to become self-reliant and confident individuals.
