KMV students advocate for Equality as Institution celebrates Human Rights Day
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) celebrated Human Rights Day with great enthusiasm. The Department of Political Science, in collaboration with the Department of Human Rights, NSS Unit, Department of Student Welfare, and student volunteers of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, actively participated in the celebrations. The theme for Human Rights Day 2025 was "Human Rights, Our Everyday Essentials.”
Jalandhar, December 10, 2025: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) celebrated Human Rights Day with great enthusiasm. The Department of Political Science, in collaboration with the Department of Human Rights, NSS Unit, Department of Student Welfare, and student volunteers of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, actively participated in the celebrations. The theme for Human Rights Day 2025 was "Human Rights, Our Everyday Essentials.”
Students pledged to stand up for their rights and those of others, promote values of humanity, and work to eliminate discrimination, division, distrust, intolerance, and hate, from local to national and international levels. Slogan writing and poster-making competitions were also organized as part of the celebrations.
Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi motivated the students, emphasizing that respecting the rights of others and performing their duties sincerely aligns with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations and the rights enshrined in the Indian Constitution. The student volunteers of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, residing in the adopted villages, took initiatives to raise awareness about human rights. Prof. Dwivedi appreciated the efforts of Dr. Madhumeet, Dr. Ashima Sahni, Dr. Iqbal Singh, and Ms. Priyanka for successfully organizing the celebrations.
