KMV organises extension lecture on Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy: An Introduction

Jalandhar, November 9, 2023: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organized an Extension Lecture on Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy: An Introduction on the occasion of celebrating World Mental Health Day. 

The lecture was organized by P.G Department of Psychology. The eminent resource person for the lecture was Dr. Shaveta Bhardwaj, Clinical Psychologist and Hypnotherapist, Shrimann Super speciality Hospital, Jalandhar. 

The lecture was attended by the students of undergraduate and postgraduate students with full zeal and enthusiasm. The resource person during her lecture introduced the very famous therapeutic technique in the field of psychology known as Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. She taught the basic principles to the students through which this technique can be applied. She opined that by making efforts to improve one’s own self is one of the important steps in rectifying irrational thoughts and beliefs. She also emphasized that one must keep an active focus on problem solving and also practice this technique on one’s own-self to get rid of unwanted problems in the life. 

The lecture was followed by an active discussion by the students in which the students asked various queries from the students to which Dr. Shaveta replied very eloquently.
