KMV marks World Mental Health Day 2025 with focus on Mental Health Attention

Jalandhar, October 9, 2025: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) P.G. Department of Psychology celebrated World Mental Health Day event. The event aimed to promote awareness about mental well-being and align with the global theme for 2025: “Access to Services – Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies”. The celebration’s focus was on creating awareness that mental health deserves the same attention as physical health. Students from both undergraduate and postgraduate classes participated enthusiastically in various awareness activities designed to foster understanding and empathy. To engage students interactively, mind games were organized to promote relaxation and cognitive stimulation. The department also set up psychological testing and counselling booths, where assessments of personality, resilience, and related psychological traits were administered. On-the-spot counselling and guidance were provided to students to help them gain better self-awareness, emotional insight, and mental health support. Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that the event succeeded in conveying the message that mental health must be safeguarded, especially in times of crisis, and reaffirmed the KMV’s commitment to promoting psychological well-being and resilience among students.
