KMV Marks National Statistics Day with Engaging Student Event

Jalandhar, August 28, 2025: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) celebrated National Statistics Day by organizing a PowerPoint Presentation Competition, hosted by the P.G. Department of Mathematics.

The event, centered on the theme “Applications of Statistics,” highlighted the indispensable role of statistics across diverse fields such as economics, healthcare, sports, business, and the social sciences.

Undergraduate and postgraduate students from various departments enthusiastically participated, with six shortlisted teams delivering impactful presentations that showcased the practical applications of statistics in real-life contexts. The participants impressed both the audience and the panel of judges with their analytical depth, creative perspectives, and confident communication.

The competition provided a vibrant platform for students to demonstrate their understanding of statistical concepts and their relevance in addressing contemporary challenges.

Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi appreciated the initiative, stressing the growing significance of data literacy in today’s world. She commended the dedicated efforts of faculty members, particularly Anand Prabha, for successfully organizing an intellectually enriching event that broadened students’ perspectives.
