KMV Cooling Zone offering vital Summer Relief to the citizens with Clean & Chilled Drinking Water

Jalandhar, June 2, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) has stepped forward with a vital community service initiative. In a compassionate bid to support citizens, and commuters battling the blistering summer heat, the college has established a dedicated KMV Cooling Zone right outside its campus wall. The cooling zone is strategically positioned along the main road adjacent to the college perimeter, making it easily accessible to passersby. Equipped with high-capacity air coolers and water coolers, the zone provides free, clean and chilled drinking water throughout the hottest hours of the day.
Speaking on the initiative, Director Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi emphasised that KMV has always remained deeply rooted in social responsibility. KMV Cooling Zone is a small token of our commitment to humanity. KMV wants to ensure that anyone passing by our campus can find a moment of relief and hydration to shield themselves from heatstroke. The initiative has drawn immense gratitude from the local community. Dozens of delivery drivers, traffic personnel, labourers and pedestrians can be seen stopping by the cooling zone daily to quench their thirst. Through this project, KMV not only addresses an urgent seasonal need but also instills a strong sense of civic duty and empathy among the society, proving once again that education at KMV goes far beyond the boundaries of the classroom.
