Jalandhar, January 19, 2016: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- The Heritage Institution, Jalandhar’s Base Ball team won the 1st Runners-up position in Guru Nanak Dev University inter-college competitions held at the university campus. They defeated Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar and Khalsa College Amritsar teams in the series of matches held. It is noteworthy that six players from the team were selected for the next Inter –University camp which will be held at GNDU, Amritsar. The names of the selected players are Jasvir, Yuvika, Amarjeet, Neeru, Rajvir and Swati who participated in Junior Asian Championship held last year at Thailand. The player Ms. Swati is also a member of the Indian National Team of Baseball.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the team on their victory and exhorted them to play and practice even harder to move towards excellence. She also congratulated Head Dept. of Physical Education, Mrs. Ashoo Bajaj, faculty members Ms. Neha and Ms. Deepika for excellent mentorship.
