Jalandhar, May 2, 2016: To commemorate the Labour day to appreciate and thank the selfless service of the workers who work with full dedication and ensure the hygiene and security of school, the students of DIPS Covent School LKPD celebrated International Day on Saturday. The Chief guests of the programme were Mrs.Rupinder kaur (Chair Person of Human Rights), Ms.Handa and Ms.Nayya, Mr.Gurpal Singh. The function kicked off with a speech, which highlighted the role of helpers in school life. The informative speech was followed by skit against child labour. Students expressed their love and gratitude by presenting their token of love to helpers., which they gladly received. Various games like musical chair and talent hunt were organized for them . To inculcate the value of dignity of labour, our students were taken to cleanest day drive near the school. The whole derive was quite inspiring and motivating. The students enthusiastically took up brooms and garbage bag to clean up every nook and corner of the nearby area. People around were delighted to see their efforts and joined them voluntarily.
The Principal of the School Mrs. Ranjit Bhatia congratulated the workers and thanked them for their selfless services. Workers were overwhelmed watching the function and expressed their gratitude towards the school management, teachers and students for their endeavours.
