The Center for Guru Granth Sahib Studies at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, organized a vibrant and spiritually enriching celebration of Khalsa Sajna Divas on the college campus today.

Jalandhar, April 15, 2026: The Center for Guru Granth Sahib Studies at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, organized a vibrant and spiritually enriching celebration of Khalsa Sajna Divas on the college campus today. 
The event commemorated the creation of the Khalsa by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and aimed to promote discipline, spiritual awareness, and Sikh values among students.The programme commenced with a soulful rendition of a Shabad by the students of the Music Department, invoking the blessings of the Almighty and setting a serene and devotional tone for the event. This was followed by the felicitation of the Principal, Dr. Rachpal Singh Sandhu, who was honored with a traditional turban by the Coordinator of Guru Granth Sahib Studies Centre, Prof. Mandeep Singh Bhatia, symbolizing respect and the rich cultural heritage of Sikh traditions. A variety of competitions were organized to engage students in cultural, religious, and intellectual pursuits. The events witnessed enthusiastic participation, with 22 students in the Gurbani Kanth Competition, 19 in Elocution, 33 in Poster Presentation, 24 in Quiz Competition, and 18 participants in the Turban Show. The overwhelming response reflected the students’ deep interest in Sikh heritage and values. The Turban Show emerged as one of the highlights of the event, beautifully showcasing the elegance, identity, and confidence associated with Sikh identity. Participants displayed remarkable creativity and pride in presenting different turban styles. Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Sandhu emphasized that Khalsa Sajna Divas inspires individuals to follow the path of truth, selfless service, and discipline. He encouraged students to actively participate in such meaningful events and extended his best wishes for the success of the programme. At the conclusion of the event, the winners were awarded trophies and felicitated, while all participating students were also honored with certificates in recognition of their enthusiasm and achievements. The event successfully provided a platform for students to express their talents while strengthening their connection with the teachings of Sikhism. 
On this occasion, Dr. Balraj Kaur( Head, English department), Dr. Harjit Singh (Head, Maths Department), Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Anand( Head, Computer Department), Dr. Harjinder Singh( Head, Punjabi Department), Prof. Ajitpal Singh, Prof. Satpal Singh, Prof. Ahuja Sandeep, Prof. Jasdeep Singh and other faculty members of the college, students, and distinguished guests attended the celebration, making it a grand and memorable occasion. The stage proceedings were brilliantly conducted by Dr. Daljit Kaur.
