JP Nadda speaks to Nitin Gadkari over accident due to massive landslide in Himachal

Dharamshala, August 14, 2017: Shri JP Nadda, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, who is the MP from Himachal, condoled the loss of lives in the landslide related accident on the Mandi-Pathankot National Highway 154 on Sunday, terming the mishap as "unfortunate and saddening". He also wished for speedy recovery of all those injured. Shri Nadda further stated that the government firmly stands with the families of the victims.
Shri Nadda expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, for sending a team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to Mandi, and said that this has strengthened the rescue and relief operations at Mandi.
To prevent such mishaps in future, Shri Nadda also spoke to Shri Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping and requested him to direct National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to take necessary steps for averting such accidents. The press release issued here said that accordingly, Shri Gadkari directed the NHAI to include soil stabilization, land protection wall, zeo static and slope stabilisation in all the DPRs for constructing national highways in Himachal Pradesh. He also directed NHAI to complete all the DPRs at the earliest.
Shri JP Nadda said, "such initiatives will greatly help in reducing the accidents in future.”
