Iyali launches crusade against drugs from Mandi Mullanpur

Speakers addressing public rally during launch of a crusade “Punjabiyo Jaago, Nashe Tiyago” against the drug addiction at Mullanpur grain market in Ludhiana district on Monday.

Mullanpur (Ludhiana),January 6, 2014: “This is high time that we have to take the drug menace with an iron hand to save the future of Punjab. If the people of Punjab still not rise to the occasion and do not fight with the drug addiction, the future of Punjab would definitely be bleak”. It was the clarion call given by Manpreet Singh Iyali, MLA from Dakha, while launching a crusade “Punjabiyo Jaago, Nashe Tiyago” against the drug addiction.
Adressing the public gathering at the local grain market Iyali said that he has derived inspiration from Parkash Singh Badal, CM, Punjab and Sukhbir singh Badal, Deputy CM for starting an all out campaign against this menace. He said that religious leaders, social organisations, sports clubs, NGOs, panchayats, staff of school and colleges would be main channel partner in this campaign. He said with the help of these institutions and people an impressive awareness campaigning would be initiated in this constituency to completely eradicate the drug addiction.
Divulging the details of the activities which would be initiated under this campaign Iyali said that awareness seminars, drug de- addiction camps, awareness processions, stage plays would be conducted to generate awareness among the masses about the ill effects of the drug addiction. He said that full co operation and help would be extended to the drug addicts to enable them to live healthy life by giving up drug addiction.
Ashish Choudhary, SSP, Gurpreet Singh Toor, AIG, Intelligence, Satinder Singh, SSP, Vigilance, RS Kaler, MLA Jagraon, Gurcharan Singh Grewal, member SGPC also addressed the gathering.
Folk singer Balpreet Singh Sidhu sung an emotional and inspirational song against the use of drugs. Artist of Lok Kala Manch, Mullanpur Mandi staged play “Inha Jakhma Da Ke Kariye”.
