Navi Mumbai, April 9, 2026: ITM Skills University has announced the launch of its AI-First Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme for the 2026-28 academic batch, with applications open until April 30. The programme is designed to address a longstanding gap in the technology hiring ecosystem, where graduates often require significant on-the-job training before becoming fully productive. By integrating industry experience directly into the academic structure, the university aims to produce job-ready professionals from day one.
At the core of the programme is a guaranteed six-month paid internship, embedded as a mandatory component rather than an optional add-on. This internship is structured to provide students with hands-on experience through real-world projects across AI product firms, cloud-native startups, cybersecurity companies, and data engineering organizations. As a result, students graduate with demonstrable work portfolios, moving beyond traditional academic credentials.
The curriculum offers three specialisations aligned with current industry demand: Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI, Data Science, and Cybersecurity. These tracks have been designed to reflect evolving technological trends and workforce requirements. To further support practical learning, each student is provided with a MacBook at the start of the programme, ensuring access to adequate computing resources for advanced development work.
In addition to academic and technical training, students benefit from mentorship by industry professionals actively working in their respective fields. This approach is intended to bridge the gap between theoretical instruction and practical application, offering guidance rooted in current industry practices.
“This programme is designed to close the gap between academic learning and real industry expectations. By embedding hands-on experience, mentorship, and emerging technology focus into the curriculum, we aim to ensure that our students are not just qualified, but truly job-ready from the moment they graduate,” said Saikiran Sondarkar, MCA Program Head at ITM Skills University.
The programme also includes an international exposure component through the Study One Subject Abroad initiative. This allows students to undertake part of their coursework at partner institutions overseas, enhancing their global perspective and competitiveness in multinational job markets.
ITM Skills University reports a placement assistance rate of 100% for the programme, supported by an established hiring network. The highest recorded offer currently stands at ₹16 LPA, reflecting outcomes from existing industry collaborations rather than projected figures.
With its focus on integrating education and employability, the AI-First MCA programme represents a shift toward industry-aligned higher education.
