Sharda University proudly inaugurated the International Conference on Applied and Interdisciplinary Mathematical Sciences (ICAIM-2025) at its Greater Noida campus. The three-day conference, taking place from 20–22 November 2025, is being organized by the A.H. Siddiqi Centre for Advanced Research in Applied Mathematics & Physics (CARAMP) and has drawn leading academicians, researchers, scientists, and industry experts from across India and beyond.

ICAIM-2025 is set to significantly boost Sharda University’s research ecosystem by fostering global collaborations and giving faculty and students exposure to cutting-edge tools, techniques, and interdisciplinary research practices. The conference’s rigorous program—covering sustainability, public health, emerging technologies, climate science, and data-driven governance—is designed to generate high-impact discussions and actionable research, underlining the societal relevance of mathematical sciences.

At the inaugural session, Prof. R.C. Singh, Conference Chair, underscored the transformative power of interdisciplinary research in driving innovation. This was followed by an overview of the conference themes and structure from Prof. P. Manchanda, Secretary of ISIAM. Prof. Parmanand, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Sharda University, reaffirmed the university’s dedication to strengthening international academic partnerships and supporting research that tackles real-world challenges.

The gathering also featured inspiring addresses from Prof. Sanjeev Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Maharaj Suheldev University, and Prof. B.K. Dass, former Dean at the University of Delhi’s Faculty of Mathematical Sciences, both of whom praised Sharda University for building a bridge between mathematicians, data scientists, engineers, and interdisciplinary researchers.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Akhilesh Gupta, former Secretary of SERB-DST, highlighted the critical role of mathematical modeling, AI, data science, and computation in India’s development ambitions—especially in the pursuit of “Viksit Bharat@2047”—and encouraged early-career researchers to contribute to solving societal problems.

The formal inauguration culminated in the release of a commemorative souvenir and a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Prof. Khursheed Alam, Convener of ICAIM-2025, acknowledging the contributions of dignitaries, participants, and the organizing committee. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.

Also present during the event were Dr. Bhumnesh Kumar (Dean, Research), Dr. Anviti Gupta, other Heads of Departments, faculty members, and students from various disciplines, adding to the spirit of collaboration and shared learning.
