International Collaboration Brings STEM Education Workshop to Panjab University
The Department of Education, Panjab University, Chandigarh, today welcomed students and faculty from Curtin University, Perth, Australia, for a six-week workshop on STEM Education for Primary Students.
Chandigarh, January 9, 2026: The Department of Education, Panjab University, Chandigarh, today welcomed students and faculty from Curtin University, Perth, Australia, for a six-week workshop on STEM Education for Primary Students.
This initiative, being organised under the New Colombo Plan (NCP) Mobility Program, is funded by Australian universities to support Australian undergraduate students to develop Indo-Pacific capability. A delegation of 8 students and a faculty member from Curtin University Perth is visiting Panjab University, Department of Education, for a six-week credit-bearing internship and mentorship experience in Ankur School.
The orientation ceremony, attended by faculty and research scholars from the Department of Education, marked the beginning of this collaborative initiative. The workshop, being held at Ankur School, Panjab University, Chandigarh, aims to equip students with innovative approaches to teaching Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to primary school students.
The delegation is led by Dr. Rekha Kaul, Professor of Science Education, Discipline Lead in STEM, and Deputy Head of School of Education, Curtin University. From Panjab University, the collaborators are Prof. Jatinder Grover, Chairperson, Department of Education, and Prof. Nandita Singh, Department of Education. Prof. Kewal Krishan, Dean International Students, Panjab University, also graced the event, emphasising the importance of international collaborations in enhancing academic experiences.
