Jalandhar, March 6, 2026: The NSS Unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education celebrated International Women’s Day under the spirit of the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ programme with great enthusiasm and creativity. To mark the occasion, activities such as a fancy dress competition and poster-making were organised under the theme “Wings of Wonder.” The theme symbolised the journey of women towards empowerment, growth and self-realisation, encouraging students to reflect on the strength and resilience of women in society.

The metaphor of “Wings of Wonder” served as a powerful symbol of women’s empowerment, representing transformation, courage and the ability to rise above limitations. The event witnessed active participation from alumnae and aspiring women teachers of the college, who wore elegant traditional attire representing the diverse cultures of different states across India. Through their graceful presentation, they highlighted the cultural unity and diversity of the nation while celebrating the role of women in shaping society.

The participants’ expressions, postures and presentations depicted a woman’s journey from a constrained and often overlooked position to one of confidence, freedom and self-expression. The poster-making activity further showcased this idea by illustrating how women gradually find their voice, build self-confidence and move from the margins of society to positions of visibility, influence and leadership. The celebration not only honoured the spirit of womanhood but also reinforced the message of empowerment, equality and unity.
