A delegation of Ghudani village (Khanna) that submitted a memorandum to police against drug menace on Wednesday.
Khanna, March 25, 2015: A delegation of inhabitants of village Ghudani led by BKU leader Sudagar Singh Ghudani presented a memorandum to DSP Vikas Sabharwal at Khanna and apprised him about the prevailing drug menace in and around the village.
Sudagar Singh along with Gagandeep Singh Boparai later briefed media persons that they held a march in the village and now they are adopting “theekri pehra” to stop drug peddlers from entering the village.
They said women too are fed up with the drugs menace and are taking their struggle against the drug peddlers.
The villagers demanded that the drug peddlers should be arrested at the earliest.
On being contacted DSP Sabharwal said that he had received a memorandum from the villagers. He categorically stated that they will take stern action against those indulging into drug menace.
The delegation was comprised of representatives from Village Panchayat, religious and social organisations, Sports Club, Welfare Club, BKU, Vishawkarma Committee, Likhari Sabha, Ram Lilla Committee and Sanatan Dharam Sabha.
