Indian Business Community in Sharjah welcome Indian Ambassador and Consul General of India

Dubai, March 4, 2014: The Indian Business Community in Sharjah hosted a welcome reception in honor of the incoming envoy H.E T.P Seetharam, Ambassador of India to UAE and H.E Anurag Bhushan, Consul General of India.

The event was hosted by the India trade and Exhibition Centre m.e. at its premises in Al khan, Sharjah and was co hosted by IBPC Sharjah and affiliate bodies namely AKMG, EBCI, ALPHA PAIN CLINIC, INDIAN GOLFERS SOCIETY, JAMEAT TUJJAR AL BURHANIYAH, IIQS, ISGS, CSI, SILA, and IAP.

Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which is the patron of ITEC m.e was also part of the event where H.E Ahmed al Midfa Chairman of SCCI along with his Board of Directors welcomed the Ambassador and Consul General to the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce premises.

Culminating with a tour of the grand premises of SCCI, the dignitaries headed to the ITEC premises who were welcomed by a strong gathering of 160 Indian Businessmen and Professionals and Business leaders primarily from Sharjah and from all over UAE. Senior officials from Shurooq, SAIF Zone and Hamriyah Free zone were present at the event.

Representing the Indian Business community in Sharjah the Chairman of IBPC Sharjah, Sudesh Aggarwal and the Director General of India Trade and Exhibition Centre m.e and IBPC Sharjah, Sripriyaa kumaria welcomed the Ambassador and Consul General to the India Trade Centre.

During his welcome address Aggarwal mentioned that institutions like India trade Centre take years to build and such Centre’s help in building relationships between nations.

The Consul General in his speech mentioned that the Indian mission in Dubai shall provide all the necessary support to the India Trade Centre to promote business between India and UAE and various events shall be planned in due course in association with the Indian missions.

During his address to the Indian Business and Professional Community, the Ambassador pointed out that the initiative taken by the management of India Trade Centre and the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry to set up such an institution is commendable and it shall be prudent for the Indian Businessmen, Export promotion councils and SME’s from India to use the facilities and benefit from the services offered by the India Trade Centre. The Ambassador reassured to the Indian and UAE Business Community that the Embassy’s door is always open to support trade and business.

Representing the Board of trustees of ITEC m.e the Director General - Sripriyaa Kumaria mentioned that ITEC m.e shall join hands with FIEO – Federation of Indian Exports Organization – The apex body of Indian export organizations, to promote Indian SME’s in UAE.  She also mentioned that there has been a steady flow of SME’s from India to the India Trade Centre in the recent months who wish to set up their operations in UAE and with the new initiative of ITEC m.e. which allows such SME’s to hold free zone license in association with SAIF Zone, there has been a very positive atmosphere amongst the members of Export Promotion Councils and businessmen to start their operations in UAE at a very low cost at ITEC m.e. premises.

 In her note she also thanked the Indian Missions in UAE and mentioned that the patronage of the Ambassador and the Consul General and in particular the support from the officers of the Embassy and Consulate has helped organizations like India Trade Centre to enhance the existing trade and brotherly relations between India and UAE.

Kumaria thanked the leadership of UAE for their vision and guidance and in particular expressed her gratitude to H.H Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council and the Ruler of Sharjah for his blessings to the India Trade Centre.
