Mumbai (Anil Bedag): Highlighting India’s growing importance in the changing global landscape, CA Shaurya Doval, Founder of India Foundation, stated, “Without India, neither global peace nor a balanced world order is possible.” He shared these views during a special session organised by the Bombay Chartered Accountants’ Society (BCAS), centred on the theme “Ancient Roots, Global Pathways: Reimagining Global Leadership for Indian Chartered Accountants.”
CA Doval noted that over the past decade, India’s rise has gone far beyond economic or military strength, positioning the country as a responsible and credible global power. “Today, India is viewed as an independent, balanced and trustworthy geopolitical force,” he said, citing India’s expanding influence across South Asia, Africa, West Asia, and Europe as clear evidence of this shift in global perception.
Looking ahead, CA Doval emphasised that India’s future “hard power” will be defined by its intellectual strength. “India’s true power lies in the export of its ideas, values and philosophies,” he remarked. Referring to the global acceptance of Yoga and Ayurveda, he described them as early indicators of India’s growing soft and intellectual influence. “India’s leadership must be rooted not in dominance, but in responsibility,” he stressed, adding that clear articulation of Indian thought will pave the way for the world to recognise India as a true Vishwaguru.
Speaking at the event, BCAS President CA Zubin Billimoria said, “Such sessions provide an important platform for learning, dialogue and collective reflection, preparing chartered accountants for evolving leadership expectations in the global economy.” The program also featured discussions on ethical leadership, value-based decision-making and the evolving role of CAs in a rapidly changing global financial environment.
The session concluded with interactive discussions and networking, reinforcing BCAS’s commitment to professional development and global leadership within the chartered accountancy community.
