IKG PTU Journalism and Mass Communication Department Organised Declamation Contest

I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical university (IKG PTU)'s Department of Journalism and Mass Communication organized a Declamation contest. Prof. (Dr.) Ranbir Singh, Head of the department commands the organizing team. The objective behind this competition was to help the participants enhance their public speaking, articulation, and presentation skills.

Jalandhar, September 27, 2023: I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical university (IKG PTU)'s Department of Journalism and Mass Communication organized a Declamation contest. Prof. (Dr.) Ranbir Singh, Head of the department commands the organizing team. The objective behind this competition was to help the participants enhance their public speaking, articulation, and presentation skills.

Prof. (Dr.) Ranbir Singh shared that when apt research and strong opinions meet, then the stages raise great orators. In fact, Participants gain a deeper understanding of media and the role of media in democracy. Hence, such competitions are crucial to groom our upcoming journalists."


Dr. Vandana Nathani, Assistant Professor of Chemistry judged the event. She said that competing helps the students build self-confidence and overcome stage fright. She added, "Effective delivery involves not only speaking clearly and fluently but also conveying the emotions and intentions of the original speaker."


First position was bagged by Neha from BA (JMC) third semester, Deepak and Rahul both from BA (JMC) First semester bagged Second and Third positions respectively. An additional consolation prize was given to Rajvir Kaur from MA (JMC) third semester.


The event was hosted by Kiran and Anushka, students of the Journalism department. Dr Ekta Mahajan, Assistant Professor extended a vote of thanks to the judges and participants. The faculty who was present there to facilitate included Mangla Sahni, HK Singh, Rajwinder Kaur, and Garima.
