Jalandhar, March 16, 2016: St Soldier Group of Institutions has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi (IIT) for use of Virtual Engineering Labs. MoU was jointly signed by Prof.Manhar Arora, Managing Director and Prof.Ranjan Bose, Project Virtual Lab, IIT, Delhi in the presence of Dr.Vijay Dhir, Director, Vikrant Sharma, Vice Principal, Dr.SPS Matiana Director. According to this MoU IIT, Delhi has made St.Soldier Group of Institution as Nodal Centre for delivering the services of Virtual Labs. Students studying in B.Tech Engineering from St.Soldier Group of Institutions can now have access to Virtual Labs of IIT, Delhi and can do practical are in the IIT, Delhi labs too. The Virtual Project is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Under the National Mission on Education through ICT.
Chairman Anil Chopra said “The objective of this MoU is to provide remote-access to Labs in various disciplines of Science and Engineering. These Virtual Labs would cater to students at the undergraduate level, post graduate level as well as to research scholars. To provide a complete Learning Management System around the Virtual Labs where the students can avail the various tools for learning, including additional web-resources, video-lectures, animated demonstrations and self evaluation. This would help them in learning basic and advanced concepts through remote experimentation.
Vice Chairperson Sangeeta Chopra said “We have introduced Virtual Labs in our engineering college to promote the campaign “Digital India” introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
