ICSSR Sponsored Ten-Day Research Methodology Course Concludes at Central University of Punjab
The Department of Education at Central University of Punjab successfully organized an ICSSR Sponsored Ten-Day Research Methodology Course (RMC) from 9th to 18th March, under the esteemed patronage of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. R. P. Tiwari and Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kiran Hazarika.
Bathinda, March 19, 2026: The Department of Education at Central University of Punjab successfully organized an ICSSR Sponsored Ten-Day Research Methodology Course (RMC) from 9th to 18th March, under the esteemed patronage of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. R. P. Tiwari and Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kiran Hazarika. This course with intensive academic engagement aimed at strengthening research competencies among research scholars in the field of social sciences. The course was conducted under the leadership of Dr. Jaswinder Singh (Course Director) and Prof. Shankar Lal Bika (Course Co-Director), Department of Education, Central University of Punjab.
The programme received an overwhelming response, with 380 applications from across the country, out of which 30 participants were selected through a rigorous screening process. The selected participants represented diverse academic backgrounds, including 10 scholars from different states across India, 10 from Punjab, and 10 from the Central University of Punjab. Additionally, 22 research scholars from the Department of Education also participated, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 52 scholars.
The course featured 30 intensive academic sessions conducted by 22 eminent resource persons, including experts from across India, Punjab, and local institutions. The sessions covered various aspects of research methodology, fostering critical thinking, analytical skills, and methodological rigor among participants.
The valedictory function was held on 18th March 2026. Delivering the Valedictory Address, Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor, MRSPTU, Bathinda, emphasized the importance of research quality and interdisciplinary approaches in higher education. Prof. R.P. Vadhera, Former Pro-Vice Chancellor, Mizoram University, shared his valuable insights as Special Remarks, while Prof. Kiran Hazarika, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Central University of Punjab, appreciated the initiative and encouraged participants to apply their learning in meaningful research. The Presidential Address was delivered by Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Punjab, who highlighted the role of such programmes in building a strong research ecosystem and congratulated the organizers for successful culmination of the programme.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the successful completion of a highly enriching academic initiative that significantly contributed to strengthening research capabilities among emerging scholars.
