New Delhi/ Jalandhar, August 7, 2013: Inspector General of Police, Rohtak Range, Anil Rao has issued directions to all Range Superintendents of Police (SPs) of his range for strict security measures in view of ensuing Independence Day celebrations.

 While stating this today, a spokesman of Haryana Police said that all the Range SPs have been directed to ensure that all SHOs would enquire about foreigners in their respective areas. Besides, explosive substances and stocks of arms sellers would also be checked during the drive. Activities of those who were arrested in terrorist attack would also be monitored.

He said that all the SPs have been asked to chalk out a special plan to handle any emergency situation in their respective areas. Information about nearby hospital, ambulances and fire brigade would be provided to all SHOs.  A special team would also be constituted which would be equipped with bullet proof jackets and helmets. Notorious elements would also be tracked. 

He said that police would also set up blockade so as to check the suspected vehicles. Police personnel would be deployed in civil uniform at railway stations, bus stands, religious places, hospitals and overcrowded areas. After sensing any suspected activity, they would immediately inform to control room. Apart from this, it has also been asked to create a separate team which would keep eye on suspicious persons in hotels, dharamshalas and guest houses.

All the Range SPs have been asked to submit a report about safety measures in their respective areas.
