Dharamshala, August 26, 2017: “Himachal is the first state in North India to resume its inter-state bus services, which were suspended due to Baba Ram Rahim episode,” said G S bali , Transport Minister Himachal Pradesh to this correspondent in Dharamshala today.

Bali said, "Himachal Road Transport Corporation will resume its bus services to and from Delhi, Chandigarh and Haridwar/Dehradoon from 7 PM today. To start with the HRTC shall go with 50% of its routes. And if everything goes okay the management will meet tomorrow to take it to 100%", he added.

Further, he said that around 200 luxury and ordinary buses will ply from and to the state in the evening. 50% of the morning buses will also start if the overnight bus routes goes off normally.

Bali said that this tough decision was taken after the assurance by the DG Police Himachal Pradesh. He said that it will help thousands of tourists, candidates going for different interviews/Exams, patients and public of the state stuck in other states stuck due to Panchkula incident.

Bali said, “Bus conductors of the buses are being instructed to keep in touch with the DMs of their respective areas, on an hourly basis while travelling in Haryana and Punjab.”

Bali said, "Even Though we are resuming bus services, I advice the public to travel only if it is not avoidable for today.”
