Himachal CM announces rupees five lakh each to martyrs families

Shimla, February 24, 2016: Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh has announced financial assistance of rupees five lakh each to the family members of the martyrs Shri Raj Kumar Rana of Mandi district and Shri Om Prakash of Shimla district who laid down their lives while fighting terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir recently.
He directed the officers of the Sainik Welfare Department and the concerned Deputy Commissioners to personally visit the native places of the martyrs and hand over the financial assistance to the next of kin.
Shri Virbhadra Singh said both the soldiers sacrificed their lives for maintaining the unity, integrity and security of the Nation. He said the brave soldiers of Himachal Pradesh had always made supreme sacrifices for sake of the country. The sacrifices of the soldiers would always be remembered by the people of the State as well as the Country, he added.
