Guru Kashi University Starts Developmental Work in Shekhpura Village

Talwandi Sabo, February 8, 2016: Few days ago Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo adopted five villages for overall development and awareness among the villages. In the first phase were GKU staff Dr.Pawan Garg (Dean Basic Sciences College), Dr.Balwant Singh Sandhu (HoD Punjabi), Prof.Arashdeep Singh (Training & Placement Officer) arranged a Career Counseling Seminar in the Shekhpura village school. In this seminar the resource persons shared about various fields after 10th and 12th classes. They also discussed about various skill development programmes which will enhance the level of employability among the youth. Dr. Sandhu motivated the audience to contribute towards the developmental work by giving example of his native model village ‘Chakar’. Team from GKU stated that in the further stages two teams of students will be framed which will also carry out developmental and awareness tasks along with participation in games.
Dr. N.S. Malhi, Vice Chancellor GKU highly appreciated the works of Dr. Garg and Dr. Sandhu which will definitely bring a positive change in the countryside society. Apart from others Sarpanch of Shekhpura village Ram Kumar and whole Panchayat members, Club members, School staff were present.
