Grand celebration of the internationally renowned and vibrant Fashion Show Sukriti ’26 – Heritage to Haute at KMV

Jalandhar, March 29, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) hosted the internationally renowned and vibrant Sukriti ’26 – Heritage to Haute: A Fashion Odyssey, celebrating the institution’s glorious 140-year legacy. The grand annual fashion showcase featured costumes and accessories designed by KMV students, which were presented on the ramp in five thematic rounds—Bharat Ki Kahani: The Maharani Saga, Vanity Fair: The Peacock Prism, Indigo Blossom: The Denim Couture, Avant Garde: Beyond the Ordinary, and Noor-e-Virasat: Celebrating the Legacy. The event stood as a powerful testament to the creativity, dedication and artistic brilliance of the students. Over the years, this much-anticipated show has earned a distinguished reputation across North India, and once again the emerging designers of KMV received immense appreciation for their innovative and aesthetically appealing creations, which were confidently showcased by student models.
The occasion was graced by several distinguished guests including Chander Mohan, President of Arya Shiksha Mandal; Dr. Sushma Chawla; Neerja Chander Mohan; Dr. Satpal Gupta; Dr. Kamal Gupta; and Vani Vij, who added grandeur to the celebration. In her address, Director Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi emphasised that Sukriti is not merely a platform for fashion and glamour but also a stage that nurtures personality development, creativity and confidence among students. She highlighted that KMV’s skill-based progressive education helps young women become self-reliant and confident individuals, and congratulated parents for their daughters’ achievements in mastering multiple aspects of the fashion world.
Prof. Dwivedi also appreciated the efforts of the PG Department of Fashion Designing, Cosmetology, Performing Arts, Fine Arts, Department of ECA and other supporting departments for their invaluable contributions. The event was expertly hosted by Pallav Bose, while spectacular dance performances by KMV students further mesmerised the audience. The show was judged by Dr. Deepali Luthra, Punit Arora and Reema Singh. Several national and international companies sponsored the mega event, and the Director extended heartfelt gratitude to all contributors for making the celebration a grand success.
