Chandigarh, January 21, 2022: Kulbhushan Sharma, National President of NISA and State President of the federation, has demanded immediate opening of all schools from nursery to 12th standard to bring education back on track in Haryana. Addressing a press meet here, he said that for the last two years, the schools are facing the wrath of Corona, and students have already suffered a lot.
When the Director of World Bank Education has said that schools should not be closed in the name of infection, over 70% of children in India have been affected by the closure of schools. He also demanded that the Haryana Government should exclude the schools which take annual fee from 20,000 to 35,000 from the purview of Fee Regulation Act. He is also against the decision of taking board examination in 5th and 8th standard.
The government issued a guideline recently, in which private schools were asked to submit Form-6 online by February 1. But till now the window for filling Form 6 has not started on the portal. Hence, it is impossible to fill the Form-6 in such a short time. Similarly, the government has given some relief in the rules related to land, giving relief to the schools running before 2003. But the land standards for village schools and city schools are different.
In the year 2019, the government set the standard of about 1000 square yards of land for playway schools. On this issue also all the playway school operators disagree and they urge the government that they should get exemption.
Sharma said that if there is a provision of 300 yards area for schools up to primary class in Haryana, then the rule of 1000 squares area for play schools is completely baseless. He demanded from the government that the land criteria of playway schools should be in proportion to the land earmarked for primary schools and schools running before the rules should get maximum relief in the land norms.
