Rohtak, December 20, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta, said that government schools in the district are being strengthened as centres of excellence through an integrated approach focusing on competitive examination preparation, strong foundational learning and systematic skill mapping under the Nipun Rohtak initiative of the Nipun Haryana Campaign. He emphasized that students should be prepared for JEE, NEET and other competitive examinations at the school level itself, ensuring equal opportunities and reducing dependence on private coaching institutions.

 

The Deputy Commissioner conducted a surprise visit to the Government Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary School, Bhiwani Road, Rohtak, where he reviewed academic activities and infrastructure. During the Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM), he held detailed interactions with parents, discussing students’ academic progress, learning gaps, attendance and discipline. He also sought parents’ feedback on teaching quality, school facilities and staff conduct, and encouraged their active participation in guiding students’ education and career choices.

 

DC Sachin Gupta interacted extensively with teachers and students to assess classroom teaching, subject understanding and examination preparedness. He directed schools to identify meritorious and motivated students at an early stage and provide focused mentoring for competitive examinations. Regular practice tests and mock examinations based on previous years’ question papers of JEE, NEET and other competitive exams were directed to be institutionalized at the school level to enhance confidence and performance.

 

Highlighting the importance of early learning, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed primary classes and reiterated that Padhe Rohtak Likhe Rohtak / Nipun Rohtak focuses on achieving grade-level competencies in reading, writing and numeracy. He stated that strong foundational learning is essential for future academic success and forms the base for competitive examination readiness in higher classes.

 

He also emphasized the Skill Passbook initiative, noting that systematic documentation of each student’s academic progress, skills, interests and co-curricular competencies will enable personalized mentoring, better career guidance and informed decision-making by teachers and parents.

 

The Deputy Commissioner inspected classrooms, science laboratories, the school playground and the mid-day meal facility, and interacted directly with students to obtain feedback on their studies and aspirations. He reiterated that the district administration would provide full support to schools for academic reforms, competitive exam preparation, and foundational learning strengthening and skill development initiatives.

 

Senior education officials, including the BEO, school principal, ABRC, FLN Coordinator and teaching staff, were present during the visit.
