Centre for Women Development, UILS, hosts “Inked in Law – Essay Writing and Presentation Competition”
The University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University, Chandigarh, today hosted “Inked in Law – Essay Writing and Presentation Competition”. The event aimed to encourage students to think critically and express their ideas through essays, with a special focus on women, which proved to be highly engaging.
Chandigarh, 5 March 2026: The University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University, Chandigarh, today hosted “Inked in Law – Essay Writing and Presentation Competition”. The event aimed to encourage students to think critically and express their ideas through essays, with a special focus on women, which proved to be highly engaging.
The competition invited participants from various colleges and universities to submit essays on the theme of the three-year practice rule in the judiciary and its impact on women. Shortlisted participants were further invited to present their ideas and arguments before a distinguished panel comprising AAG Manmeet Singh Teji, AAG Punjab; Adv. Sakshi Aggarwal; and Prof. Anupam Bahri, Faculty Coordinator, CWD. The results of the competition will be announced on 6 March 2026.
The event provided a platform for young scholars to articulate their perspectives on law, gender and justice, while also honing their research, writing and public speaking skills. The presentations witnessed enthusiastic participation from students who presented well-researched arguments and insightful perspectives on the theme.
The event was organised by Centre for Women Development (CWD), under the esteemed guidance of Prof. Shruti Bedi, Director, UILS; Prof. Anupam Bahri, Faculty Coordinator; Dr Arti Sharma; and Ms Saranjeet, teacher coordinators, along with the dedicated efforts of the core team consisting of Ruhani (President), Maan Kaur (Convenor), Harleen Chaudhary and Varsha Sharma (Co-convenors), Lakshay Rajora and Jhanvi (Advisory Members), along with event heads Varsha Sharma and Lovepreet Singh.
