Chandigarh, October 30, 2015: The Government of India has nominated Panjab University (PU) Fellows Prof Ronki Ram and Dr Parmod Kumar as the members of Indian National Commission for Cooperation with UNESCO (INCCU). 
INCCU is formed by the Government of India to serve as a liaison agency between the Government of India and the institutions concerned with the working for the advancement of education, science and culture. INCCU also advises the Government of India on matters relating to UNESCO. 
Prof Ronki Ram and Dr Parmod Kumar will be the members of Sub-Commission on Social Sciences, which has 10 individual members and 10 institutional members. Prof Ronki Ram is Dean of Faculty of Arts and teaching in the PU Department of Political Science. He is also Honorary Director of North Western Regional Centre- Chandigarh, Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) at PU.
Dr Parmod Kumar is member of PU Senate and Chairperson of Altus Global Alliance, and Director of Institute for Development and Communication (IDC), Chandigarh.
The President nominates individual members in their personal capacity from among eminent educationists/eminent  cientists/persons distinguished in the fields of Social Sciences, Humanities and Culture/persons distinguished in the field of Communication.
