Free online webinar on ‘Building Blocks of Personal Finance’ 

Chandigarh, April 9, 2024: The Centre for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (CSDE) hosted, in collaboration with Zerodha, a free online webinar on ‘Building Blocks of Personal Finance’ attended by around 150 management and non-management students of Panjab University and its affiliated colleges on 8th April. Zerodha is an Indian financial services company that offers brokerage-free equity investments, retail, institutional broking, currencies, and commodities trading. The session sensitised the importance of saving early in life. The power of compounding, which enables savings to expand exponentially, was demystified by a live demonstration. The importance of financial security, making informed decisions, avoiding debt and financial pitfalls, preparing for life’s uncertainties, and identifying investment avenues to invest the savings in suitable investment vehicles were delved into. He cautioned students against ‘Paisa Double’ schemes. Quotes from legendary investors and thinkers like Morgan Housel, Milton Friedman and Warren Buffett dotted the talk. Salman Quraishi, the Zerodha expert mentor, deftly answered the participants’ questions at the end of the session.
