Jalandhar, September 24, 2026: N.S.S. unit of Lyallpur Khalsa College celebrated NSS Foundation Day in the college campus by organizing an awareness seminar on Nutrition and Diet.
Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu congratulated the gathering on NSS foundation day and encouraged the volunteers to participate in social welfare activities and contribute to nation building. He appreciated the continuous efforts of the NSS unit of the college by sending volunteers at state and national level camps and organizing awareness programs and rallies. The resource person of the event Dr. Tajinder Kaur from Govt. College Hoshiarpur in her lecture described the importance of a balanced diet and its positive results. She urged the students to avoid stale and junk food.
Chief Program Officer Prof. Satpal Singh oriented new volunteers about the history, aims, objectives of NSS and role of a volunteer. He also explained the various opportunities NSS provides to improve one’s personality.
At last, Prof. Satpal Singh thanked the resource person and the gathering. This event was witnessed by around 100 NSS volunteers and staff members.
During the event, Dr. Upma Arora, Dr. Heminder Singh and NSS Program Officers Dr. Ranju Mahajan, Dr. Harshveer Kaur and Dr. Navneet Kaur were also present.
