Five-Day Online FDP Organised at GJIMT

Mohali, December 13, 2025: Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology, Phase 2 successfully organised a five-day Online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) hosted at its campus. The theme of the FDP was “From Tradition to Innovation: Pedagogical Tools for Integrating Indian Knowledge Systems”, which witnessed the participation of 63 faculty members from across the country.

The objective of the programme was to enhance understanding of pedagogical tools for the meaningful integration of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) in higher education, in alignment with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The FDP was graced by several eminent and distinguished speakers from diverse fields.

Notable speakers included Prof. V. Ramanathan from IIT-BHU, Dr. Kalapini H. Agasti from K.K.S.U., Maharashtra, Prof. (Dr.) Swati Bhatia from Asian Business School, Dr. Preeti Jagwani from Delhi University, Dr. Subrahmanya Kumar K. from TDU, Bengaluru, and Ms. Ojasvi Goel from MeitY, Government of India, who shared valuable insights on the subject.

During the programme, in-depth discussions were held on the National Education Policy 2020, covering its vision, use of digital tools, research integration, and implementation models. Each session strengthened the understanding of how Indian Knowledge Systems can be effectively incorporated into higher education in a meaningful manner.

On this occasion, Director of Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology, Dr. Aneet Bedi, expressed happiness over the success of the FDP and stated that integrating Indian Knowledge Systems into mainstream education is not only a tribute to India’s rich heritage but also essential for preparing students who remain rooted in their culture while being proficient in modern technologies. He thanked the eminent speakers for enlightening the participants with innovative and contemporary teaching methodologies.

The programme equipped participants with essential skills and insights to incorporate Indian Knowledge Systems into their teaching practices, ensuring a more holistic and balanced learning experience for students.
