Panjab University Vice Chancellor Professor Renu Vig released Forces Law Review (FLR), the first international military law journal, here today. On this occasion, Prof. Vig also distributed the certificates to the Indian Student Editors of the journal.

First Volume of Forces Law Review (FLR) released by PU VC

Chandigarh, June 26, 2025: Panjab University Vice Chancellor Professor Renu Vig released Forces Law Review (FLR), the first international military law journal, here today. On this occasion, Prof. Vig also distributed the certificates to the Indian Student Editors of the journal.

The FLR is a unique academic collaboration between the National Institute of Military Justice (NIMJ), Washington DC, USA and the Centre for Constitution & Public Policy (CCPP), University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The journal covers matters related to the defence services and other uniformed forces such as the Police, the Paramilitary and the Armed Police Forces.

The editorial oversight of FLR has been undertaken by three nominated Honorary Chief Editors and an Editorial Advisory Board comprising reputed personalities from the fields of law, judiciary and academia all across the world. Six Student Editors selected globally have assisted in the project.

The Honorary Chief Editors of FLR are Professor Franklin Rosenblatt, who is the current President of NIMJ, Professor Shruti Bedi, Director of the University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University, and Major Navdeep Singh, Advocate, Punjab & Haryana High Court. Members of the Editorial Advisory Board for the FLR from India are Justice Rajiv Narain Raina, Senior Advocate Sanjeev Sharma and Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati.

The journal carries the text, case-briefs and summaries of important judgments from all over the world principally from constitutional/appellate courts with precedential value and also carries a separate section on briefs of recent important developments on the subject and another section for contributed opinion pieces approved by the editors.

The first volume of FLR carries messages by Justice Augustine George Masih of the Supreme Court of India, Justice Rajendra Menon, the Chairperson of the Armed Forces Tribunal, Professor Renu Vig, and Justice Alan Large, the head of the military judiciary of the United Kingdom.

The first volume, published by ‘The Browser’, Chandigarh and distributed by Simon & Schuster, is now available all across the world at major online portals as well as bookstores.
