Ludhiana, March 15, 2015: A delegation of Federation of Industrial and Commercial organisations (FICO) recently met K.K.Sharma (Chief Commissioner, Central Excise Customs & Service Tax) in Regional Advisory Committee meeting in Chandigarh.
Delegation raised the certain issues. It demanded that  Commissionerate Moga should be merged in Ludhiana because half of Ludhiana city is under Moga Division and it is very difficult to go 60 km for deposit of ARE Form & for  other documents.  It requested for speedy disbursement of refund of Service Tax as so many cases are pending for the last one and a half year. Delegation also sought abolition of 2% Central Excise on complete bicycles as cycle industry is paying 12.36% central excise on raw materials & not get the CENVAT so 2% should not be applicable. “K.K. Sharma Chief Commissioner assured the delegation that immediately action will be taken to facilitate the Industry on the issues”, said the FICO president Gurmeet Singh Kular. Kular, Rajeev Jain (Secretary) and Pawan Garg (General Secretary of Janta Nagar Small Scale Manufacturers Association) were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, at a recent meeting of FICO held under the presidentship of Kular discussions were held regarding hike on VAT on iron & steel by 1.10% & on plastics by 3.30%. FICO strongly opposed & requested the government to rollback because industry is already in financial crunch  & huge amount of VAT is already blocked with the department. Now with the increase more VAT will be blocked with department & industry will be uncompetitive. Gurmeet Singh Kular, Manjinder Singh Sachdeva, Padam Aul, Vipin Mittal, Satnam Singh Makkar, Balwinder Singh, Harminder Singh and others were present.
